RESUME
The Mountaineers emeroed from the 1948-49 basket-
ball season with a record of eighteen wins against ten
losses. Getting off to a slow start, the courtmen staged
a mid-season rallv to cop nine straight Conference wins,
placing them in the second-place position behind Ca-
tawba in the Conference race. The Boonemen took
runner-up honors in the North State tourney after losing
to Lenoir Rhvne in the finals at Elkin, North Carolina.
